Introduction Introduction
The Earth has carried life for billions of years. Scientists have long thought that Earth was one of a kind, but they still dream of finding another planet with the same characteristics. Not finding any close to us, they today think of terraforming Mars. Terraforming, according to the wiktionary, is a modification of the natural environment of a planet, moon, or other body to be similar to those of Earth to make it habitable by humans. During this project, we will discover the secrets of this ambitious project.

Increasing the average temperature of Mars' surface is crucial to make it become viable. The greenhouse gases, meteors or gigantic mirrors will allow an increase of the few degrees required for the colonization of the red planet...

Notre Maquette
Our Model
This model has been entirely constructed by our group. We wanted to represent the three main steps leading to the terraforming of Mars. It is not a bad representation of what could happen. Furthermore, the model has a timeline on the side giving the theoretical duration of each step based on what we found in our research.

Conclusion Conclusion
After studying the prerequisites to life emergence, we were able to understand how to terraform Mars. Everything is still hypothetical, but we discovered, through our research, that the first step would be to construct an atmosphere. Thanks to this atmosphere, it would be possible to get a pressure and temperature compatible to sustainable life. Only once this atmosphere established will the Martian colons be able to implant life. First as microorganisms, then more and more complex beings, life will go further, and, following the principal of evolution, it will differentiate itself to that of Earth. Humans will lose control over climate and nature, and we can even imagine that Martians will, eventually, have similar problems to those of the people on Earth...
